Trump wants to make sure that babies born to non-citizen parents on US soil don’t get automatic citizenship (as the 14th Amendment allows). Well, at least the babies who he deems “less than.” Of course, anyone in his own family wouldn’t fall into the “less than” category. Nor would the rich Russians who travel to his properties in Miami to give birth and win their children dual citizenship. THAT’S different. They are not “less than.”
It’s the poor, the people of color, the people of other religions. Those babies don’t get to eat from the silver spoon. Nor do they get to shit on the golden toilet. That’s reserved for the best of the best, the Trumps, the rich and powerful. Even if their families have forefathers who came here as immigrants, who came here and gained citizenship by marriage, birth, or otherwise.
Yesterday, two clergymen were thrown out of an event hosted by Jeff Sessions when they stood up for their Christian values and called upon the US and Sessions: “I was hungry and you did not feed me. I was a stranger and you did not welcome me. I was naked and you did not clothe me…”
But the administration doesn’t want to hear it. These “others” who are “less than” don’t count.
